Spotlight on #4 : Atik

This week it’s time to change categories. After talking about Dubstep artists, now Trap is on the spotlight.

Born in Athens, Greece, in 1996, Grigoris Aizo (aka Atik) distinguished himself in the Bass Music world and especially with Trap since he has reached nearly 6500 followers in a year and a half time.

He’s kind of a wacko because he describes himself as someone who produces music regardless of the genres, pursuing rainbow unicorns at his lost hours and performing while wearing boxers and half of a suit.

This artist is not a complete stranger to the music production world because he’s just graduated in Music Technology & Sound Engineering at IEK AKMI, a renown school in Athens.

As for the music, all the versions of Trap are being exhausted: from the heavy Trapstep remix he made of « Set Me Free » from Diplo to softer sounds like his remix of « Hello » from Ice Cube & Dr Dre. He’s able to offer very various styles while exploring Trap as a whole.

This young prodigy is also supported by huge medias in these circles such as, EDMTunes or BBC Radio 1.

He’s also the resident DJ for the STFU Parties crew which describes itself as the « most active crew in Athens » and which « brings us deafness since 2010 ».

They mostly organize Trap events but also Bass Music parties more « open » like Resurrection V last April with Eptic as a headliner.

STFU Parties is mainly the organization with which 193 Records joins forces for the Drop in Bass Athens #1 on December 12th with the much awaited B2B between Cookie Monsta and Funtcase.

The Greek has also joined the ILLMNT LEGION label (7,9K), a new gathering of Trap artists based on the love for Bass Music.

Their slogan is « God exists in Trap » and Atyk is surrounded by producers such as Levianth (9,8K) or Bowie (20K) who are pretty famous in the Trap universe.

As a conclusion, we have decided to give you a selection of 3 of the bests tracks from Atik according to the Stoner crew.

(This rating is purely subjective and not exhaustive, these are the sounds that got us vibrate the most).

1) « Too Old to Die »
2) « Mufasa »
3) « Set me Free »
